ZAHATORTE

TOMARU Tomoharu (Accordion), Uekko (Guitar), Yosuke (Cello)

An instrumental trio from Kyoto, bringing a blend of fresh yet nostalgic music. Their globally rare and exquisite combination of accordion, cello, and guitar creates a diverse original compositions. Their music draws inspiration from a wide array of beloved traditional European folk styles, such as Musette, Irish, Gypsy Swing, Bossa Nova, Rock, and Classical—composed and performed by each member with their own creative touch. With over 1,500 shows in total, ZAHATORTE is renowned for their music and performances that appeal to all ages, from children to seniors, enjoyable in any setting, from cafes to halls. Since spring 2002, shortly after forming, they have held a continuous "Monthly Dinner Live" at Sarasa Nishijin, a small cafe in Kyoto’s Nishijin district (formerly public bathhouse), at no-charge, donation-based. They also organize "Acoustic Cafe Tours" nationwide, being pioneers in the cafe-live scene. As an active touring band, ZAHATORTE performs over 100 times yealy in various venues of all sizes, including music festivals, concert halls, art museums, hotels, cafes, bars, and live houses. They also contribute music for stage productions, TV, and commercials.
