The original meaning of vaudeville is ‘voix de ville’ (voice of the town) in French. Inheriting the spirit of the satirical songs and entertainment comedy shows that began in Europe and the US in the early 1900s and became very popular in Japan, he sings, plays, and dances about the present (now) to the tune of roots music.
